     Chantal Poulin : (1959-)

Chantal Poulin's career has been shaped since childhood. Indeed, it was at the nursery school that the snowman she had represented in the gouache earned her many compliments. It is probably there that the sacred flame ignited and that Chantal began to seek this recognition by its creations.

Today known for her scenes of childhood, which represent freshness, candor, harmony, simplicity and respect, she nevertheless made herself known by landscapes during her first solo exhibition in 1978, at Montreal. At that time, her paintings were signed "Tal". It was a few years later that she decided to devote herself entirely to painting. She has since exhibited alone or in groups on numerous occasions in Canada, the United States and Europe. Her reputation was consolidated in Quebec at the time, when she illustrated in 1986, the "best-seller" of Arlette Cousture "The Girls of Caleb-Blanche" which sold a million copies.

But it was the '90s that marked a major turning point in her career with the American market. Indeed, Chantal Poulin shatters records in the United States with a penetration of 1 limited edition by 250 American households, making Chantal the most collected Canadian artist in the world. She received the "Collectors Choice New Artist of the Year" award at the "International Collectible Exposition" in Chicago in 1997 and is one of two Canadian artists, with Robert Bateman, to be published in the United States by a major American publisher of limited editions.

Chantal Poulin's limited edition reproductions at fewer than 4 oil paintings per year, some works take more than 6 months. On the other hand, he art is available to several amateurs and collectors, thanks to limited edition reproductions on paper, on canvas and also on Limoges porcelain. These editions are distributed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and elsewhere around the world.
