     Jean-Marie Gouttin (1922-1987):

Jean-Marie Gouttin (1922-1987) was originally from Nice in France. His first training was literary, but soon he opted for artistic studies which led him to attend the municipal school of drawing. Edouard Fer, Ségur Salloni, Grangean welcomed him into their workshops. Painter of great talent, Jean-Marie Gouttin was as much as a multifaceted artist, approaching both linocut, lithogravure, wood engraving as decoration and tapestry assembly, passing according to his inspirations of a form of art to another with disconcerting ease. His works, multiple and diverse, exposed as well in the Nice country, which he wanted to privilege, as in the cities of refined culture of France and abroad, everywhere where art is prized at its exact value, attest to outstanding gifts that he knew how to use to mark with force and originality each of his works.
