David Mc Ausland Carlile (1885-1970) :

David Mc Ausland Carlile, WW1, Veteran.
Born in Paisley on the 2nd February 1885 to James Carlile, a spirit merchant, and Helen Polson Carlile (née McAusland), a power loom weaver. He studied architecture at The Glasgow School of Art from 1905 to 1910. He later immigrated to Canada where he worked as an architect. In 1915 he enlisted with the Canadian Oversees Expeditionary Forces, and fought oversees in the Canadian Royal Highlanders regiment. He died in Montreal on the 4th December 1970, age 85. David McAusland Carlile is listed on The Glasgow School of Art's World War One Roll of Honour.

Né à Paisley le 2 février 1885 de James Carlile, un marchand d'esprit, et Helen Polson Carlile (née McAusland), un tisserand de métier à tisser. Il a étudié l'architecture à la Glasgow School of Art de 1905 à 1910. Il a ensuite immigré au Canada où il a travaillé comme architecte. En 1915, il s'est enrôlé avec les forces expéditionnaires du Canadien et a mené des supervises dans le régiment canadien des Highlanders Royal. Il est décédé à Montréal le 4 décembre 1970, 85 ans. David McAusland Carlile est répertorié sur le Roll of Honor de la Glasgow School of Art World One.
