Lucien BESCHÉ (French, 1851-1901)

Costume design of Sir Walter Scott’s ‘’ Invanhoe’’ watercoulour (published. 1820)

Lucien BESCHÉ was a French porcelain artist who worked for W.T. Copeland and Sons circa 1872-85 as a figure painter, also painting plaques and tiles. Besché left Copeland’s in 1885 and established himself as a theatrical costume designer.
