  St-Gilles  :

St-Gilles, born in Quebec City in 1956, St-Gilles established himself as one of the most influential landscape painters of his generation. Since 1999, this lover of the great outdoors has devoted himself to a major challenge; traveling across the country to paint all the provinces and territories of Canada.

St-Gilles studied at Sainte-Foy College and holds a college diploma in presentation aesthetics. He began to study painting at a very young age. He was introduced to this art with Arthur Genest, then Paul Brien, Mario Mauro and Bruno Côté. The artist first became known for his watercolors, then for his oils, a technique he still practices today.

At only 23 years old, St-Gilles held his first solo exhibition. His career got off to an excellent start and he entered the Montreal market in 1981. Since then, the artist has held more than 25 solo exhibitions across Canada.

Today, St-Gilles has established himself as one of the most influential landscapers of his generation. Much appreciated for his great talent as a colourist, this nature lover has dedicated himself since 1999 to crisscrossing the country in search of the most beautiful Canadian landscapes
